Inventory Coordinator
Job Overview
The Inventory Coordinator accepts donations at the Attic Store and picks up large donations with company vehicles from customers and provides them with a tax receipt. They also maintain a well-organized donation intake area by sorting and categorizing items for easy processing and movement of furniture and large household items to holding area and/or sales floor as necessary. The Retail Coordinator drives the company vehicles or accompanies other Employees and Volunteers to pick up large donations. This position reports directly to the Store Manager and works under the direction of the Warehouse Coordinator. The Retail Coordinator assists with rotation of stock, stocking sales floor and maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe store environment. The Retail Coordinator maintains the company vehicles in a clean condition and reports maintenance issues to the Warehouse Coordinator by daily completion of the Vehicle Inspection Report.
Responsibilities
- Accepts donations from donor customers and provides and/or offers each donor a tax receipt in an efficient, prompt, and courteous manner providing excellent customer service.
- Maintains the company vehicles in a clean condition inside and out and reports maintenance issues to the Warehouse Coordinator with the use of the Vehicle Inspection Report.
- Inspects quality, cleans and/or performs minor repair (less than 5 minutes) to items as indicated before transporting to sales floor or processing area.
- Responsible for maintaining the donation intake area in an efficient manner by keeping it safe, organized and properly stocked.
- Responsible for refusing items in a tactful and courteous manner that do not meet our standards per the posted “Do Not Accept List”.
- Responsible for inquiring from donor as to the condition of large household items, specifically electronics and appliances and labeling items as appropriate.
- Responsible for moving/directing large household items and furniture directly to the sales floor as appropriate to eliminate backlogs.
- Bags excess clothing donations and transports to appropriate holding area to eliminate backlogs.
- Exhibits critical thinking abilities and applies them for continuous improvement of services and HH. Demonstrates ability to think creatively, identify and make recommendations to Attic management.
- Consistently demonstrates initiative and skills in planning and organizing work. Demonstrates ability to prioritize workload and ensures that all projects are completed by deadlines.
- Uses own knowledge and experience base and other resources as necessary to make logical decisions and solve problems.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous work experience in warehouse environment as a stock person and/or thrift/consignment store experience.
- Must be able to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be a self-starter and have good organizational skills.
- Travel up to 25-75%
