Enteral Technician Supervisor
Job Overview
The Enteral Technician Supervisor assists the Nutrition Managers, Enteral Technicians and Couriers in providing enteral formula and supplies to our enteral patients, while maintaining a cohesive relationship with all related enteral staff to maximize the effectiveness of the nutrition program. The Enteral Technician Supervisor performs tasks associated with the supervision of Enteral Technicians and their assigned workloads.

8:30am - 5:30pm
with weekend rotation if needed

Responsibilities
- Monitors workload of staff and collaborates with management regarding staffing needs
- Facilitates staff development and cross-training
- Delegates duties and tasks to streamline workflow
- Participates in and coordinates the hiring and training of all new Pharmacy Technicians
- Conducts annual and semiannual performance reviews for direct reports, with Nutrition Manager signoff
- Places outbound calls to patients to perform monthly monitoring of enteral nutrition patients including review of supply inventory by completing the ENT-Enteral Refill Assessment and processing of Delivery Tickets either via PHD drop shipments or local delivery from the branch, coordinating any necessary follow up with appropriate department or team member
- Maintains current enteral orders and authorizations, tracks expiration dates, generates order renewals in advance of order expiration, and faxes to prescribers
- Takes payment from patients/caregivers as required
- Responds to enteral patient inquiries, including tracking shipments when requested
- Communicates with Pump Management and pharmacy/warehouse teams on enteral pump needs, problems, issues and helps coordinate pump swap or pickups when needed. Provides pump troubleshooting for patients
- Coordinates inventory needs with Supply Chain and CMC warehouse staff
- Follows enteral discharge for inactivity process to maintain clean census
- Identifies and escalates clinical or operational enteral issues beyond capability of position to the appropriate enteral team member: Dietitians, Nutrition Managers or Nutrition Director
- Observes legal and nutrition guidelines for safeguarding the confidentiality of patient information
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and at least one year of relevant work experience
- Experience in organizing information and communication with the public
- Experience in enteral nutrition
- Experience ordering products and coordinating deliveries
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills
- Flexible and able to work effectively in multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology
- Knowledge of medical records, reimbursement and/or nutrition
