Pharmacy Professional Practice Analyst
Job Overview
The Pharmacy Professional Practice Analyst supports the execution, monitoring, and continuous improvement of enterprise pharmacy professional practice programs. This position collaborates with Pharmacy Operations, Compliance, Quality, Legal, Risk Management, Licensing, and other business partners to promote quality and patient safety, compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, regulatory requirements, professional practice standards, and organizational policies.
The Analyst assists with regulatory compliance initiatives, inspection readiness activities, pharmacy policy and procedure management, corrective action tracking, audit support, licensing-related activities, and professional practice projects. This role serves as a resource for pharmacy leaders and contributes to a culture of patient safety, accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across all pharmacy locations.

Responsibilities
- Supports the day-to-day administration and execution of enterprise pharmacy professional practice initiatives.
- Assists with monitoring compliance with pharmacy practice standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Tracks and monitors professional practice metrics, compliance indicators, audit findings, and corrective action plans.
- Identifies trends, potential risks, and opportunities for process improvement through data analysis and reporting.
- Supports enterprise medication safety and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintains professional practice resources, tools, and reference materials.
- Assists in preparing pharmacies for Board of Pharmacy, DEA, accreditation, and other regulatory inspections.
- Supports inspection readiness assessments, mock inspections, and regulatory compliance reviews.
- Monitors and tracks inspection findings, observations, corrective actions, and remediation activities.
- Maintains documentation supporting regulatory compliance programs.
- Assists with investigations and follow-up activities related to regulatory findings or professional practice concerns.
- Supports the development, review, revision, approval, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Coordinates document review workflows and maintain policy version control and governance records.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts to ensure policies remain aligned with current laws, regulations, and operational requirements.
- Assists with communication and implementation of policy updates throughout the organization.
- Supports pharmacy and associate licensing and registration activities, including pharmacy permits, controlled substance registrations, and professional licensure tracking.
- Maintains regulatory records, databases, and supporting documentation.
- Assists with licensing audits, renewals, and compliance monitoring activities.
- Coordinates with internal stakeholders regarding licensing requirements and regulatory submissions.
- Partners with Pharmacy Operations, Compliance, Quality, Risk Management, Legal, Human Resources, Information Technology, Security, and other departments to support enterprise initiatives.
- Participates in compliance projects, process improvement efforts, and regulatory implementation activities.
- Provides analytical and project support for professional practice initiatives and strategic priorities.
- Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned by Pharmacy Professional Practice Leadership
Qualifications
- Minimum of High School Diploma and 5 years of pharmacy experience, with significant exposure to regulatory, compliance, professional practice, and/or multi-site operations.
- Active, unrestricted pharmacy technician license (not state specific) required.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) or other advanced law degree with a concentration in healthcare, pharmacy, or regulatory law preferred.
- Experience in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, licensing, professional practice, audit support, or pharmacy operations preferred.
- Experience in long-term care, specialty pharmacy, or retail/multi-location pharmacy environments preferred.
- Legal/compliance training or a law degree, particularly with a concentration in healthcare, pharmacy, or regulatory compliance preferred.
- Working knowledge of state and federal pharmacy laws, regulations, and DEA requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends or risk areas.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively communicate.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Access).

- Remote position with periodic (~5%) travel to corporate offices, pharmacy locations, regulatory meetings, conferences, and other business-related events as required.
